Batuhan recently returned from his home country of Turkey for another major medical procedure. Batuhan has had several procedures performed by Dr. Hochman and his staff since 2003. His latest major surgery involved a micro-vascular flap. The terribly scarred skin on his right cheek was removed and replaced with a skin graft from his back.
Batuhan wanted to have this additional procedure in order to go to school. He is not allowed in school in his town in Turkey because he was told he "would scare other children". The funds donated to THTF made it possible to bring him to Dr. Hochman and Dr. McFadden to continue the journey to normalcy for Batuhan.

Charleston’s Third Annual Flip Flop Ball--“a casual fund raiser” Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 7 pm, at Gold Bug Island
A very fun, casual event to raise money for two charitable foundations. This year The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation and WINGS for Kids are proud to have been chosen for this honor.
