Dear Dr. Hochman,

I am a Turkish citizen from Istanbul and I read about your great help to Batuhan. I wanted to thank you for your assistance to a patient who needs help while in his own country doctors were not taking enough care of him.
Best regards,

Aycha

PRODIGY JOURDAN URBACH PERFORMS IN CHARLESTON TO FUNDRAISE FOR HEMANGIOMA PATIENTS

09-Apr-2009

Charleston, SC, March 6th. Jourdan Urbach, the young prodigy violinist appeared in concert in Charleston, South Carolina, fundraising for The Hemangioma Foundation. Jourdan’s own charity, Children Helping Children, linked with The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation in an evening of virtuoso performance and strong emotional appeal for funding from both Jourdan and Dr Hochman.

17 year old violinist Jourdan Urbach has been compared to a “Young Paganini” by New York critics and has performed frequently in solo recital at major concert halls in the United States, including Carnegie Recital Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room.

The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation raises money to assist parents unable to afford the surgery to operate on children with Hemangioma and other vascular tumors. Four hundred thousand children in the US alone are born with a vascular birthmark. 30 percent of these children need some form of treatment either by laser or surgery. Children whose health insurance will not cover removal procedures and whose parents cannot afford treatment are bought to Charleston, SC, and are treated by Dr Marcelo Hochman, the foundation’s medical director and a specialist in the field. Dr Hochman has been donating services for over 15 years.

“ I was very proud to donate my services for a cause close to my own heart

having heard some of the successful case histories of treatment by Dr Hochman.

I am looking forward to a long relationship between my own charity, Children Helping Children, and The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation. We are planning another concert evening together in Washington on June 11th”.

Dr Marcelo Hochman said, “We were honored to have Jourdan in Charleston supporting us. He is a brilliant young man with a very big heart and his concert program and the passion in his speeches from the stage moved the audience greatly. We are looking forward to out next engagement with Jourdan very much”.

Jourdan Urbach and Dr Hochman were introduced by a mutual friend, and Jourdan’s belief that young artists should play a strong role in fundraising for healthcare and the community compelled him to support The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation.
