2005 Last Night in the Garden Theatre

 325 special guests enjoyed an enchanting evening in the old Garden Theatre bathed in candlelight, billowing wall panels and surrounded by music. A red carpet was laid out on the sidewalk for the arrival of the formally dressed attendees at this fundraiser gala.

The evening began with cocktails to the music of the Christal Brown Youth Chorus and Quiana Parler. Country singer, Julie Roberts, along with guitarist, Shane Sutton, who performed a selection of their music during an extraordinary dinner prepared by J. Bistro catering, accompanied by fine wines and champagne from Rodney Strong Vineyards.

Dr. Hochman was surprised by a representative for Governor Mark Sanford bestowing upon him the coveted South Carolina Order of The Palmetto. The Order of the Palmetto was established by Gov. John West in 1970 as a way that the Governor of the state could distinguish individual citizens for outstanding service or friends to the state. It is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an individual, and is given solely at the discretion of the Governor.

Acclaimed singer, Patti LaBelle, was on-hand to present an award to her good friend and fashion designer, Zang Toi, for his commitment and support of the Foundation. One of the highlights of the evening was when Ms. LaBelle surprised the audience by singing a spectacular rendition of "The Lord's Prayer". Actress Dyan Cannon, national spokesperson for the Foundation, introduced and commented on her work in The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation's first two National Public Service Announcements. Immediately following, there was dancing to the music of the show band, Right On.

Other "Friends of the Foundation" who are unable to attend include Amanda Bynes, Matthew Perry, Tony Danza, Susan Sarandon, Kyan Douglas, Hootie and The Blowfish, and Bethany Joy Lenz.
