2006 THTF Annual Gala “Cowboy Couture Fiddles and Vittles”

400 guests arrived in western black-tie attire for this fundraiser gala in the  Ports Authority Terminal building which was dramatically transformed by decorations with a western theme and the assistance of Lisa from Out of Hand in Mount Pleasant. The fun evening began with cocktails to the music of fiddler Bob Culver and his band. Also performing was Buddy Jewell who sang accompanying himself with his acoustical guitar. 

National country singer, Julie Roberts, and her band thoroughly entertained the booted crowd with her performance during an extraordinary “home on the range” dinner prepared by j.b.c. catering, accompanied by fine wines  from Jim Beam and champagne from Moet Hennessy. Then nearly all of the guests moved to the dance floor for some lively dancing. After dinner Dr. Marcelo Hochman shared a short video of the faces of some of the children the Foundation has been able to help and he presented an award to Julie Roberts for her commitment and support of The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation.

Taylor Guitars and Nashville country stars bound together to help raise even more money for the foundation by donating a Big Baby acoustic guitar, which was been signed by Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, George Strait, Lonestar, Julie Roberts, and Buddy Jewell. The guitar was auctioned after the gala on Ebay.com.  It went to the highest bidder for $3,100. All proceeds go directly to The Hemangioma Treatment Foundation to help children who are in need of surgeries for vascular deformities.

The premier auction included a five star resort trip to Esperanza in Mexico, a Club Car, a piece of jewelry from celebrity designer Loree Rodkin, an exclusive weekend at the private Abaco Club and more. Immediately following the auction, the band Liquid Pleasure provided more music for dancing for the energetic crowd.
